About the Role
In this role, you will design, engineer, modify, and support existing or new electrical control system designs to meet manufacturing requirements. The objectives for the job are to design/develop electrical control systems that satisfy manufacturing requirements for machine control, performance, safety. You will report to the Senior Engineering Manager and works under the direction of Project Managers to meet budgetary goals and delivery schedules.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (or related field)
• Thorough knowledge of electrical schematics and machine tool electrical design practices
• Thorough knowledge of AutoCAD
• Solid problem solving and communication skills (oral and written)
• Teamwork and co-operation in international and/or cross-functional environment
• Experience with formats such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Outlook
Responsibilites
• Work closely with Field Service and Design team for project guidance and design.
• Design, engineer and modify machines and systems relating to internal or customer driven specifications
• Actively participate in design review process as required depending on current milestone of the project, communicate needs, results, scheduling, and budgetary issues to project manager
• Maintain records of engineering data for each job/machine/project
• Play an active role in the ongoing improvement of electromechanical systems design and development
• Develop /write scopes of work for electrical contractors and technicians
• Perform design calculations related to tasks assigned.
• Prepare scopes of work, bills of material, specifications, and other necessary project documents
• Maintaining schedules, and being cost efficient
• On-site installation & start-up support
• Minimal travel required, work in the main facility in Columbia, MO on a daily basis
• Research various components, services, processes to determine best fit for a given application, with respect to function, time to implement, and cost
• Ensure machine safety: all applicable standards are followed, and electromechanical systems are designed in a manner that is safe to operators
• Work closely with service and maintenance personnel to check out machines and train on new issues
• Salary range is 60 – 70,000 / year depending on level of experience
